If you look at the options between MSI and exe it actually shows you exe for 32bit Windows and msi for 64bit. Download the version that is right for your machine.

I highly suggest you to use 7zip a better and chiper (it's actually free) alternative to WinRar.

There is no free version. If you want a free compression app try 7Zip.
    http://www.7-zip.org/

    It will unpack Rar files.

7-zip is the best compression app out there for Windows. Highly recommended.

MSI is acronym for Microsoft Silent Installer, it runs exe installer in background, if you want to deploy an application on a Windows Infrastructure , you will have to create a GPO rule with the MSI so the MSI will be installed on every machine without user intervention. An MSI file does not run on MAC

Unfortunately, "the free version" does not exist. You can download a trial version from rarlabs.com, but it is not free, so if you want to keep it, you'll need to pay. However, there are plenty of other, excellent compression utilities which ARE free, such as IZarc, 7-Zip and Pea Zip and you could use one of them instead.
