How to convert WAV to MP3 audio files?

MP3 file format is smaller and more easily recognized by music players or portable devices than WAV. I want to convert my WAV audio files to MP3 format, yet I have no idea how to do that.

    I use Format Factory. Freemake Video Converter is said to be good too. Or you can use Winamp's built in converter if you're already using it. Load the song to Winamp, right click-send to-format converter.

    Install Itunes in your system. Then you will be able to import the WAV files into itunes. After importing, select Advanced menu and choose Create MP3 Version. This will convert WAV files to MP3.

    You can use the totally free, FreeMake Audio converter http://www.freemake.com/free_audio_converter/ . Also if you want to convert videos, they similarly have a free video converter.
