Osama Javaid asks:
We all know that the address bar of google chrome as well as firefox serve as a search engine from google but sometimes some malicious software changes that search engine into something else, I explored all options of the browsers, uninstalled all add-ons related to that but I couldn’t revert it back to google search. What to do?

November 27, 2012nobody is understanding my question, i don’t want to make google my homepage or set it in search engine bar….i mean by default the address bar is also a google box, i want to bring that functionality back.
At the very least, you should look at this link:
November 30, 2012http://www.technipages.com/firefox-change-address-bar-search-provider.html
and confirm that your “about:Config” is set to search on the provider that you want.
thanks, that’s what I wanted.

November 28, 2012Osama Javaid, at first try to unsinstall the software that is causing the problem from control panel. Then in Mozilla Firebox beside the address bar u will find a option to select the search engine u would like to use on your right hand side at the top. For Chrome go to settings, then select Open a specific page or set of pages from start up option. You can also change the search engine from the search option beside managing the search engines. Hope this solves your problem.
