Hi,
I want to know how to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 and also after that install Cyogenmod.
It has become really terrible and slow. I will not need any of the data on it so I do not require to use ClockworkMod, I think.

A question: In the download link provided in the article for GApps there are many download links. All of them saying jb or Jellybean. Does this mean they are only compatible with jellybean or are they the Jellybean versions of GApps? Sorry I'm a noob at this, please help!

The Gapps Zip file for Google Play Store and Google Services can be downloaded

The JB/Jelly Bean version of Gapps are only compatible with JB/Jelly Bean. Other versions will not work (missy times will only amount to force closing Google services and apps).

Thanks so much! It worked! I now have the correct CM 9.0.1 and thanks to you the correct Gapps! Got everything ready, time to root!
This is why I love MUO so much!

ClockWork Mod isn't just for backing up your files, it is also used to install custom ROMs like Cyanogen Mod. It is best to have some form of custom recovery in case something wrong happens; it can save your hide and allow a reinstall of the ROM or another ROM.

http://hexamob.com/devices/devices-devices/android-rooting-methods-for-samsung-galaxy-tabgt-p1000-with-android-version-2-2-froyo/ has information on what is needed for each form of rooting.

http://get.cm/?device=p1&type=stable has a list of CyanogenMod ROMs compatible with your tab.

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p1 has the information necessary for installing CyanogenMod and ClockWork Mod.
