How do I fix files that were uploaded as .ink to Dropbox?

Fortuna asks:

In uploading my documents to dropbox, they were transfered with the ink extension, which cannot be read by Dropbox. How do I make right?

Somehow you wound up uploading the shortcuts to the files instead of the files themselves. Try to upload again making sure the file extension is the right one.

Do you mean they have a LNK extension? If so, check whether or not the original file you transferred over was just a shortcut. If so, you’ll need to find the original file that you want to transfer to Dropbox instead.

Yep, you’re creating shortcuts. What you need to do is put the actual files in there. You need the originals to do this.

The procedure will be like this

1) delete all .lnk files from your Dropbox account.
2) remove the folder you were syncing with dropbox from dropbox settings
3) Now go to C: > users > current user(your name) > and then select the my documents folder inside it, it will now sync the real files rather than my document shortcut.

Hope it helps :)
