I use hide my ip 5.3
software to hide my ip address. I think its the best ip hiding software i,ve ever used.
It does not affect my internet speed that's the main reason i like it very much.

VPN or proxy. There are many options out there, but be careful with what you choose and know that they can see your traffic (basically do you trust them or not?)

So many comments but no one mentioned Spotflux! Its a free VPN solution that you can trust upon! Its also available for Mac and according to their site http://spotflux.com/ a mobile version is in making!

It will make you appear as if you are located in United States. Although it does not provide you to choose which country from which you want to connect to.

Use VPN like cyber ghost which can be found in makeuseof rewards.
Or try buying some premium proxies.

Use TOR, which you can read all about on their website. Basically its about as secure as you're going to get without paying for a VPN...

http://www.torproject.org

Or if you're flush with cash (or reward points on MUO) a VPN will cover all internet traffic.

Anonymox for firefox will do the work for you. All you need to do is install an addon "anonymox" for firefox. Its free and pretty easy to use.

I assume you mean that you wish your IP to be seen as something other than your home country when you visit a website. Here is an occasion upon which you may wish to utilize a proxy server, either as a one-time thing, or permanently.

For a reasonably decent and detailed explanation of what a proxy server is, see this;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server

For a list of proxy servers sorted by country, see this;

http://www.proxy4free.com/list/webproxy_country1.html

If you point your browser at any of these sites, you will see a field where you can insert the URL you want to visit. The web server will then see the address of the proxy server, and not your home/work/school IP address. You should probably use a proxy that has the lowest access time (latency), but even so please be aware that using a proxy (and even a fast one) WILL affect the time it takes you to look at a fully rendered web page. The question is whether the tradeoff is worthwhile.

Good luck!
