How can I see the files on my iOmega external drive again under Mac OS?

I’m using an iOmega external hard drive and Mac OS. The drive stopped working on the Mac, so I turned off the NTFS driver and opened it as read-only. Now I can see my folders, but no files, though the memory use is still showing. How can I get my files back?

Sounds like you need to mount it under Boot camp with Windows or similar and run chkdsk on the drive. It sounds like you might have some potential problems. If that does not fix it you will likely have to look at recovery options. Linux boot disks tend to be a good way to go for recovery. For more on chkdsk look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHKDSK Good luck.
