Simply you can use a memory card recovery software or removable media recovery software to recover your data.

I am also missing something here. Can't you always retrieve/read/copy a corrupt file even if it is read only which think is all write protection on the memory stick does.

If you are having trouble reading the file period try Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier: http://www.roadkil.net/listing.php/C1/Data%20Recovery. once you get some kind of file back, apply the appropriate corrupt repair program to the recovered file.

Use neo9 tool to remove write protection from memory card -

    http://www.box.net/shared/9hgp81ndgs

After it gets removed, you may be able to recover the file easily.

You could try Recuva (from piriform.com).
The fact that the drive is locked is not a problem (you should be reading from it and writing onto your hard disc), but as Alan says, something in your question doesn't make sense. Are you trying to recover an earlier version of the file?

Sorry if I am missing the point here but why do want to retrieve a corrupt file?
If the file is corrupted then it is unusable so I dont understand why?

As I said, sorry if I am missing something here.

You might have locked your Adapter Accidentally! To lock you would have to press down and your memory card would be locked! Make sure that lock is turned off and then try recovering data using Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva)

      perhaps there are hidden.

Go to Start -->Run-->type cmd right click ond choose run as administrator.
if your memory card is as G (check your letter):
      Enter this command: attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:*.*
Then check if your real files will be shown
