Hello Guys, I am new at this site, sharing a problem with you.

My Exchange server (2007 SP2) EDB mailboxes is corrupt and I want to restore it or repair previous EDB backup. I was attempting powershell to restore database, but failed. Please help me.

Run eseutil /p powershell commands, it will repair corrupt mailbox. After that run export-mailbox command to export exchange mailboxes into pst format. PST file can be easily imported into exchange server again or used with ms outlook individually.

All these process can be automated using any edb to pst converter application (PCVITA EDB Converter). It supports recovery of deleted and corrupted mailboxes and conversion of priv.edb & pub.edb into pst formats. Read all about the product here:

Hey! you can use a Mailbox Exchange Recovery Software. These software restore the inaccessible mailboxes by repairing the damaged Exchange Server database files. If you need further help tell me.

    Hi,

If your EDB file has minor corruption then you can repair using powershell command but in the case of major corruption you should try third party software such as stellar phoenix mailbox exchange recovery which has ability to repair damaged mailboxes effectively and convert into pst file format. Try demo version: http://www.stellarinfo.com/edb-exchange-server-recovery.htm

PS: Using any paid software is a matter of choice, please be very careful while choosing any recovery or conversion software. First try demo version & make sure you are choosing branded company with years of experience.

Most importantly make a backup from the corrupt storage group(s) before attempting any recovery. Next step should be following the general process of recovery
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272570

But at the end of the day one would first have to investigate the reason for the corrupt database! For example if it is the result of a power outage the basic recovery should work since all transaction logs etc. should still be in place. If this was caused by a file system, or partition corruption things may get complicated depending on when the corruption started.

Last but not least: Do you have a backup e.g. from the night before to restore from (worst case scenario)? If this is your only mail exchange server every minute of downtime will result in further data loss (of new emails). So bringing it back to a working state should be the primary goal wherein data recovery could be attempted on a secondary system.

If edb file itself is corrupted, create a new database and move the mailboxes to it. before doing it take full backup of database
