How can I download apps to my SD card on my Motorola XT897?

How can I download apps to my SD card on my Motorola XT897? It has an Android 4.1.2. operating system.

I also need to know how to specify that I want all music and pictures saved to the SD.

I thought I had my music and pictures going to my SD card, but when I put it in my computer all that was on the SD card was a few pictures I had taken from the phone’s camera. All the other pictures and music downloads were on my internal storage. My phone is constantly full and I would like to throw it at the nearest brick wall.

Please help me resolve this problem! I’ve been to the Sprint store and the Radio Shack Store where I bought the phone and no one knows how to help.

For apps, you can use Clean Master app. This app when installed, asks you whether you want to move your app to SD card or not(if an app is supported to be movable to SD card).

Google wants to remove the use of SD cards and encourages everyone to use internal storage as you can see in Nexus lineup.

The feature is only available on KitKat. Go to Google Play Music's settings, then under Downloading, tap on "Storage location." Choose the external card as your new storage location.
