I upgraded my Windows 7 Home premium to Windows 8 Pro. But after trying it I did not like it and wish to revert to Windows 7. Although I have have my original installation disc and key, it will not reinstall. What can I do?

Thank you.

Back up your files first, but then reset your hardrive..

Really nice links from ha14. First "like" from me. It's strange how few "like"s people give each other here. MakeUseOf should do something about it, because contributers, helpers don't get any credit for their efforts and time. I still haven't get my Commenter Level 1 even though I contribute. It's discouraging.

Just Install Win 7 from BIOS by changing first boot device to DVD-ROM and second boot device to HDD delete the partition previously installed with and create a new partition and completele the installation on newly created partition.

Must take backup of all your data you will not get if you going through above steps.

The Professional edition of Windows 8 comes with “downgrade rights.” If you’re not happy with Windows 8 on a new computer, you can downgrade it to Windows 7 for free – as long as you have Windows 8 Pro.

If you have an external (or spare internal) hard drive, just copy files to it that you wanna keep, pop the windows 7 disc in, reboot and install from there.
I dont think you can downgrade though...

before you downgrade from the solutions presented by other friends, be sure to have a backup as a precaution to secure your data.
