I use both Chrome 15 and Firefox 4. I’d like to be able to hide the URL bar in both. How do I do that?

Hello, for firefox you could the extensiong LessChrome HD:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/prospector-lessChrome-HD/

or you could try the following in the browser itself:

    -- open firefox
    -- click on view
    -- click on Toolbars
    -- uncheck Navigation Toolbar
-- you should see the url bar disappear
-- to show it back just do the same and check mark navigation toolbar

For Chrome, you could do the following as long as your chrome is a canary version:

    -- open chrome
-- type the following in a new tab
    about:flags
    -- find the compact option
    -- enable it

-- right click on the tab bar
    -- select Hide the toolbar

      I agree with firefox,
but does your chrome show the options you wrote ?
mine did not, so I skipped this one from the search results.

    firefox :
view : toolbars > uncheck navigation bar

chrome : i could not find, if an option is available to hide addressbar.

you can press f11 on both the browsers, and full screen mode will not show url bar
