How can I make the HDMI port on my display work in Windows?

Why won’t the HDMI port on my display (ACER X233H) work in Windows Vista, but works in Ubuntu Linux? I get no POST screens in neither case.
I’m using 3 MSI GTX 260 in SLI. ASUS Striker II NSE motherboard, Vista Service Pack 2, DVI male to HDMI male cable.
When I plug the HDMI end of the cable into the monitor, the monitor receives no signal from my computer.

Are the drivers installed correctly? Look in device manager. Right Click my computer, go to manage, then click device manger. Make sure the drivers are up-to-date.

Most laptops have a hotkey to switch video inputs/outputs. Have you pressed it? Usually FN+ a F key.
