Can I group my iPhone contacts?

Hi, I have been trying to set up contact groups on my iPhone without success. Has Apple disabled such a feature on the iPhone? Is there an app that would help me out?

I have recently migrated from a BlackBerry and would like to organize my iPhone contacts in the same contact groups as I had on my BlackBerry.

Thank you for your insight.

you can add/delete groups directly on iPhone and easily assign contacts to groups with app "Contacts In : Import CSV & Manage Groups". See here: http://csvcontacts.wordpress.com/iphone-groups-broadcast/. As bonus you get all contact management things (deletion, creation) and ability to send broadcast SMS and e-mails and quickly clean up your contacts.

You can group them from your email provider or on your Mac in Address Book.

Not directly, no. You can either use an app (I prefer Contacts XL by Jonathan Teboul) or sync your contacts to GMail and group them there.

To create group for your iPhone contacts natively on the iPhone, use CopyTrans Contacts:

    http://www.copytrans.net/iphone-contacts.php

Once you run the program on a computer and connect your iPhone, you can start creating and modifying iPhone contact groups. The changes will take effect directly within your Contacts app on your iPhone.

Hello Min. Thank you for your answer. Indeed what I was looking for. I was able to create the contact groups directly within the iPhone Contacts app using your suggestion.

Don't believe you can group natively on the iPhone. You may want to give this app called Groups a try.
