if you signed up with Gravatar and uploaded your image (avatar), everything should work automatically.
Remember that you have to post comments using the eMail address that you signed up to Gravatar with. You can also go back to Gravatar and add further eMail addresses under your original account. You can even add different avatars for each eMail address that you add.

When you first set up an image, or you change your image, it may take a little while for the image to appear. Just clear your browser cache once or twice, restart your browser once or twice, and the image should finally show up. As Tina says though, the key is to use the same email address for everything. If the site you are commenting on is Gravatar-enabled, then everything should work pretty much straight away.
Yup, just make sure you use the same email address for all of your commenting and the Gravatar will show up.
Basically Gravatar allows you to have a profile and keep track of where you’ve posted comments and have your image and id appear without having to create a different account for each one. As mentioned above, just use the same id (email) and password you used for Gravatar and your image and id will appear automatically. You can also check all your posts conveniently from Gravatar.
I didnt know you could track thru gravatar where your email has been used in commenting as i understand Taty says? i dont see that option anywhere on their site.
I’ve been trying to look for that option everywhere, as blogs use gravatar system to get profile pic it should be easy for them to log all comments?

You can track any comments made using the your Gravatar account, no matter what site (as long as the site uses Gravatar for its comments). You can view all of your comments using Gravatar if you have a Gravatar account simply by clicking on your picture on any post.

yup! WordPress integrates GravatAR functionality by default which means all WordPress powered blogs support it. And that’s a LOT.

According to them they serve (29,015 requests per second!), or a few billions per day, so they must be on a lot of sites

Actually it does. I don’t see it here right now, but I saw it when I moderated your comment (guy with black sunglasses). The Disqus server sometimes is slow in loading images. If you just uploaded your image, give it some time.

Nope, doesn’t seem to work.
Did you associate the right email address and successfully upload the image? There are some requirements (size and file type) for the Gravatar picture. But if you see it on Gravatar, it should work.
Maybe the servers need some time to update.

Testing… The main problem I seem to be running in to is that sites like blogger give you 2 options, either use your Google account (which doesn’t link back to my WordPress blog), or an OpenID. I have tried repeatedly to use WordPress but my Gravatar does not appear. I’m sure this is an easy fix but I am just not seeing it…

Thanks Tina – It works here, but when I leave a comment in someone’s wordpress blog (and I leave my e-mail address which is tied to my gravatar account), I don’t see my gravatar. Any idea why it doesn’t work?
Not all WordPress blogs have Gravatar support enabled. In that case your icon won’t show up.
