Which graphics card should I buy to be able to run Windows 7 with Aero?

Angad Singh asks:

Hello,

My system configuration is:
Motherboard: GA -8I865GME- 775
CPU: Intel P4 HT 3.06GHz
RAM: 1.5GB DDR1
Graphics: On-board Intel 82865G Graphics Adapter

I have an AGP 4x/8x(1.5v) slot on the motherboard.

I am currently running Windows 7 but not its Aero features or transperency due to unsuppored motherboard (integrated graphics) so I want to install a new graphics card in my AGP slot. I am wondering:

1. Which graphics card should I install so that I can run Windows 7 Aero features?
2. I have a Samsung CRT 17″ monitor , will it conflict with the graphic card to run Windows 7 Aero features?
3. Should the RAM type e.g. “DDR” of the graphic card be taken in consideration for compatibility?

Please keep in mind that I cannot buy a new computer.

Thank you in advance!

Any video card that supports DirectX 9 or later and Pixel Shader 2.0 or later will allow Aero to work. The video RAM type has no impact on compatability but the faster the VRAM the better overall performance you will get. The monitor type does not matter for Aero functionality. As a matter of fact, I am using one LED monitor and one CRT at the same time off of one card with no issues.

For what i can say is, Read this referencehttp://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-turn-on-and-enable-aero-in-windows-7-enable-aero-peek/

For your graphic card you need to have dedicated VGA RAM which has 128 Mb.
For your Monitor, please change your monitor to LCD screen, but the specification must be support your new graphic card. I think there is no limitation about the type of your memory as long as you meet the requirements.
