Why isn’t Google updating Google Toolbar for Firefox?

Abdul Basit Suhail asks:

Why isn’t Google updating Google Toolbar for Firefox? And why is there not a Google Toolber for Chrome? It seems like they should stop developing it for Internet Explorer if this is the case.

Chrome doesn’t need to have the Google Toolbar since the features of G Toolbar are already present in Chrome.

Google isn’t updating it because many of its features have made their way into Firefox itself. Here’s the official announcement:

For Chrome, it’s the same thing. Features like bookmark sync and translation, once in Google Toolbar, are baked into Chrome itself.
It’s true that not all the Google Toolbar’s features are in the browsers now. For the features you miss, you can find other extensions.
