Stephanie w asks:
Google Chrome has suddenly become really slow. I can only access certain websites, such as Yahoo. However, I cannot access Google or Hotmail, and it times out if I try to sign into Facebook or Youtube. I’ve had the IT department at my university look at it, and it isn’t a problem with the proxy server. Also, Firefox is working fine.
I have not installed any new add-ons, or extensions.
I have tried restarting my computer, and re-installing Chrome.
The only new software I have installed recently were rewards from makeuseof.com.

July 27, 2012if you have an Anti Virus, try to scan as a full scan, after that run ccleaner to clean all your junk file. Running ccleaner will delete unnecessary files that has a possibility make your google chrome work slowly.

July 28, 2012if it is a proxy related issue i’d try ultrasurf, get it, run it, ignore internet explorer, get proxy switchy sharp for chrome and then manually configure a profile to run through http proxy: 127.0.0.1 and port 9666 check the box that says something about using it for all connections. it works for me anywhere i am to get around a proxy.
good luck
