Hello, do you have any kind of proxy installed? Or a proxy addon? Try the following to see if it helps:– Open Chrome– Click the Tools menu– click on Options.– click the Under the Hood tab– click Change proxy settings– click LAN Settings– check that the option Automatically detect settings is selected.– click on ok for all dialog boxes

Mark, in most cases I would say this was an error with the website in question rather than your PC. However, since you’ve said other browsers do work (I presume on the same website), and assuming this is also consistent for every website you view in chrome, then it’s very likely you have some kind of FIREWALL blocking chrome from the internet. Without knowing more, it’s difficult to say what, but be sure to sure built in windows firewall as well as any additonal pc protection software you have installed

can you please explain what triggers this error message? What do you do with or in Google Chrome to cause it?
