Never mentioned the word illegal books – why do people automatically assume when people say “torrents” that they want illegal books? BitTorrent is an incredibly useful way to distribute content – legal content. If you ever used Demonoid, the terms & conditions made it clear that they do not allow the distribution of material that is copyrighted – it was for material that the rights holders want to distribute.
October 6, 2012Anestis, what you are asking for is very unrealistic. some of the books demonoid listed were extremely rare and out of print. Or exorbitantly priced. Now, I understand that downloading books illegally might not be fair to the authors or the publishers, but it is not also fair to ask students ( who have limited resources. not rich people. which I assume you are.) to shell out 80 bucks for a book which they night not need in the next semester, or the coming years. give your opinion to a third world student who does not have enough money to pay for a british library membership card and/or imported and extremely pricey books and see what happens.

I too have been so reliant on the safety of torrents from demonoid. Well as for now I opted to temporarily search on piratebay. It might not be the best bet for many but with responsible selective browsing or torrent searching you’ll be safe i think. I am now using torrentleech, sceneaccess, bitgamer and myanonamouse. They are all good private trackers. Just like a few other guys here, I received some of the invites from http://www.inviteshares.com
For Bitgamer, my friend sent me the invite.
