Zach Cox asks:
My tablet won’t turn on all the way. It works up until it shows Samsung, and then stops working. Don’t know what to do. Ive tried holding the power for fifteen seconds, and I also tried put it back on the charger and left it alone for a few hours. But nothing is working. I need help.

July 16, 2012Hello Zach, I’m sorry you’re having tablet problems.
This particular issue is conventionally known as a bootloop or softbrick. It’s referred to as “soft” because more than likely the looping isn’t permanent – a permanently looped tablet is commonly known as a brick. It can be easily fixed using either a battery pull or a factory reset (which will destroy much of your personal data).
The most common method of fixing this issue is by pulling the tablet’s battery – unfortunately, unless you’re willing to disassemble your Tab, this is not an option as the Tab has screwed on battery covers. However, you can deplete the battery by leaving it on for an extended period of time – this method has the same effect as a battery pull.
If your Tab is rooted, and you installed something that is interfering with the boot process (and you lack a backup), you will need to Factory Reset the device. Factory reset requires that you turn the device off (so deplete the battery). Next, hold the volume up key and the power button until you boot into recovery mode. If you’ve done it properly, it shouldn’t even display the Samsung logo – should just boot into recovery mode. Anyway, in this mode, you should be able to perform a factory reset.
Follow these instructions for more details:

I take that back – you WILL be able to see the Samsung logo as it’s the first thing that pops up.

July 16, 2012Cos Its Anroid!!! Ipad is good or wait till August when the Windows 8 tablet is released for Sale. Though everyone bags windows for all these problems but they always have a fix out ASAP and works for most applications in todays everyday usage world.
This is not an Answer to your question.

July 17, 2012A little unknown bug in Android 4.0 (ICS) that i’ve discovered (sadly) after HTC finaly rolled the upgrade to my EVO 3D device (previous Gingerbread) is that if you have more then 50-80 apps installed on the SD the device will loop the boot .. or boot in loop.
The is no fix other than rooting the device and installing another, custom ROM (there are a couple out there that have this bug fixed ).
If that is not acceptable, you have to plug the SD Card into you pc and manually remove apps until you get under the mentioned threshold.

August 2, 2012I had to do a factory reset, which did remove all data, but now i have a different problem. Maps continuesto to force close repeatedly.
I would be in the middle of a video or an app, a window pops up saying: Maps has unexpectedly stopped working. Then gives me the option to either Force Close or Repirt. Ive done both and neither options fix the issue.
Its an application that cannot be uninstalled or removed.
Am i now stuck with this problem?
