Is there any free software available that will allow form filling on a PDF document received via email?

I'm not sure I truly understand what you are looking for.

Once you saved the attached PDF to your computer you can fill out the form and save the data using the free Adobe Reader.

Hello, If the form is downloaded, foxit pdf free version can be used to fill the form out and save it.

If Adobe Reader can't save the input information the PDF wasn't properly created by the author to enable Reader users to save form data.

I'm not sure if any other free "reader" software will be able to save it for that matter.

Feel free to try out one of ha14 suggestions or go straight to PDFescape which is capable to edit PDFs.
