Are there any free apps or programs from Microsoft that you can recommend?

Despite their unsavory reputation as a pure for-profit empire, Microsoft does give away great freeware programs. I recently bought a subnotebook and I’ve noticed that I installed quite a few MS free products: Visual Studio 2010 Express, Microsoft Mathematics, IE9, Windows Live Essentials 2011, Microsoft Security Essentials, etc.

My question is, are there more juicy MS freeware that you can recommend? I’m a PC enthusiast and am willing to try out new apps.

    Hello, as long as you are a student and have a student id, you can go to the DreamSpark site and download all the software provided on the site with a free license. Visit the link provided:
