dial : *#7370# it will format your phone memory , (it will restore to
factory setings and delete all the data from phone memory. back up data
if you need)
dial :*#7780# it will not delete the personal data like contact and text messages.
it will restore factory settings without deleting all the data from phone memory
read link for the phone menu options.
to update :
From PC :
You can use ovi suite or pc suite
1. On your PC, open Nokia ovi Suite and connect your phone
2. In Nokia ovi Suite, select Tools > Software updates.
3. From the list of available updates, choose what you’d like to install.
From cell :
Select Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone Updates.
Select any available updates you want to install.To download, follow the on-screen instructions.
(You can also set your phone to alert you when an update is available.)
I think if you directly update the software, it will automatically perform a soft reset.
heyy ! i have a C3 wish is field with viruses should I dial these numbers or do somthg else ?

Connect your phone in nokia mode with your USB cable.
and click the software update option of pc suite on your pc.
you can also try soft reset, and hard reset after backing up your data.
Read my first comment for more details.
I will also suggest to visit nokia care and ask them what can be done.

i have four blank messages in my inbox n two in sent items….. which doesn’t get deleted……
[blank msg has no name, no number, it doesn't even open]
when connected via cable to my system, the PC suite shows 65 msgs in d inbox n 27 msgs in outbox…..
tried all methods….
no use…. anyways…. thanks a lot…..
Same here! And I tried hard reset with *#7370#, but it only restores factory config. I want a clean install of the operative system.

Click ”settings”, then you click up to be at last setting and then you click there on “restore factory settings”

You can reset your phone to factory settings by -
Soft reset – *#7380#.
Hard reset – *#7370# code and press yes to confirm.
Regarding installing apps on your phone you can either get it by accessing OVI store(Nokia store) from your phone or connecting your phone to PC via PC suite/OVI suite and using Nokia suite to get apps.

Check your phone’s volume if it’s made to lowest level in the system profile.Go to Menu–>Settings–>Profile settings(or Profiles) and choose one of the profiles which you keep active most of the time and customize it’s volume to your comfort.
If the above method doesn’t solves it then try resetting your phone to factory mode.If still it doesn’t fixes then contact to your nearest Nokia store.

if the cable doesnt work then do a reset and check if still do not work hard reset nokia (remember to backup files on sd card perhaps since they will be deleted) then see if it charges and if not proceed to upgrade firmware
June 8, 2012I think that Nokia doesn’t supports USB charging in your phone.Even Nokia E63 which earlier used to charge via USB was disabled by an update.
