What’s the best format for my eBook reader?

Kenneth Phillips asks:

I order an eMatic book reader from Wal-Mart for $64. I have started downloading free ebooks already. I sued PDF to download the Bible and I was able to read it through Adobe reader. I tried another book and it didn’t work. What is the best format for my new reader?

Thank you very much. I don’t have the reader yet but just ordered it. I am trying to get couple of books ready. I will try the epub format also when I get it.

Hmm, I usually use the PDF and Epub, but it depends on different device limit.  Such as many help files and programming books I got are CHM, luckily I got a Free CHM View from Enolsoft to read them on my Mac.
