You can try the system driver folder trick by creating another folder with the name lpt1 or con, etc. in the folder you want to make undeletable. read this

Are you creating a folder locker or looking for a folder looker ? to make folder un-deletable,
well, if a process keep using the files in the folder, then the folder cant be delted, is the simple rule.
and there is a software called unlocker, which deletes the undeletable files used by other processes.
    keep that in mind.

    M File Anti-Copy 5.2
    http://mini-products.net/
This software has the ability to deny copying or moving of files and folders, as well as the launching of programs installed on the PC.

just hide the folder to some location that no one knows except you .
enable hiding the folder by checking hidden in the properties option when u right click on folder.

Now just disable showing hidden files and folders and you are done .

When you want to edit or add something in your folder, you can see it by enabling the show hidden files and folder and there u go .

IN this way no need of such cumbersome operation like making a key and going into the programmer thins and your folder is still safe :D

Hello, there are two ways I can think of to make a folder undeletable:

The first way is by doing the following:

-- Make the file/folder only accesible to you by using encryption.  To do so, follow the steps:
-- Right click on the folder and go to its properties
-- Click on Advanced, and check Encrypt content to secure data
    -- Apply the settings
-- When asked to confirm attribute changes for folders, select Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files
    -- click ok
-- the folder's font color will change to Green to indicate the changes have been made
-- no one can use (open, rename, delete etc.) files in that folder except you.

The second way is by disabling the access to folders:

--  turn off Simple File Sharing by following the next steps:
--  Navigate to the following path:  My Computer >> Tools >> Folder Options
--  select the View Tab on menu
--  scroll down and uncheck Use simple file sharing
    --  click ok.
--  right click on file/folder and go to properties
    --  select the security tab
--  remove all the users from the list except yours
--  click on apply and then ok
--  turn on Simple File Sharing

all you have to do is double click

It depends on how much you want it locked down.
If you only want it to be delete protected but able to change files and stuff inside you will have to use NTFS ACL.1. right-click > Properties2. click on Advanced at the Security tab3. click "Change Permissions"Now you can add, edit or remove permissions for all users and groups including the "Delete" and "Delete Subfolders and Files" flags.
First you should uncheck "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" and select "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object".

This way you ensure that only permissions set for this folder apply to itself and all of its content.

Making a file read only will only prevent it from writing, it can still be deleted.
