Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network

perhaps firewall problems?

1) Right click adapter that is connected to Internet
2) Select properties and select sharing tab
3) Check “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s
Internet connection”
4) Select to connection to users will connect to (in this case virtual
access point interface Wireless Connection 2)

How have you set up your network, which OS are you using, is it wireless or wired? Is it through a hub, switch, router, wifi direct, one wire to another?
