Why does Firefox 3.5 crash when trying to print?

When I want to print from a Firefox 3.5.7 page Firefox is crashing, not every time, but every other time! Is there a fix?
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 on an iMac Intel Desktop.
This is a new problem since installing Firefox 3.5.5.
It’s enough to drive on to Safari

    My first suggestion would to try resetting the printer in about:config, Firefox preferences.

    1. Type about:config in the Location Bar and press Enter. A list of preferences will appear.
    2. Find the preference print.print_printer (Note: this preference is missing in Firefox profiles where you've never used the printer.)
    3. Right-click (context-click) that preference and select "Reset".
    4. Restart Firefox and see if the problem is resolved.

      Thanks Aibek,
      However it didn't work although I did as you suggested. I have upgraded to Firefox 3.6 and it's just the same. It crashes every other time I press print!!

        I found something online, it seems to be rather popular problem.

        http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=846285&start=30

        Try following;

        Close firefox and delete .default found here

        /Users//Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/.default

        After that restart you iMac and see if the problem still there.

        If that doesn't work, let me know what Printer you have.
