How do I make folders for my bookmarks on a macbook pro.  When I look at tutorials it says to go to the bookmarks folder and click on "organize bookmarks", but I don't have that option.

Unfortunately I don't have a Mac to hand, but simply search for bookmarks.html and you'll find the file and its location.

I second that, very simple an useful tip infact. If searching for
      bookmarks.html doesn't return anything try bookmarks.htm.

Also, if you are looking for a simple way to synchronize bookmarks across multiple computers and browser then check out Xmarks.

You can easily export your bookmarks by accessing the bookmarks menu item, click on Organize Bookmarks, then click the Import/Export button to export your bookmarks as a html file.

If you want to manually access your bookmarks, navigate to
    ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/
