Why must I be a Facebook member to download guides now?

Why must I now be a Facebook member to download guides? This SUCKS. I am not a Facebook member and do not intend to join Facebook. Guess I’ll just unsubscribe from MakeUseOf if this policy does not change.

    David,

I think the link Aibek intended to post was http://www.makeuseof.com/pages/

I understand that it's easily misconstrued that we force you to be a Facebook fan in order to download our guides but you can easily download all of them if:

    a) you are a newsletter subscriber and have access to our downloads page
    b) read our PDF announcement posts when we launch a new manual -- we link to the manual directly and on Scribd

In regards to facebook, we DON'T require users to join the Facebook to download the latest guides.

here is the direct download link: http://www.makeuseof.com/service/pdf-manuals/

That requirement goes into place only about a month after the guide was announced. This is to make sure that everyone who wants it gets it for FREE via direct download link.

Plus as Justin pointed out you may download the older guides by signing up to our newsletter.

    Aibek

Put simply: you don't. There's a button beneath every guide download for signing up via email. Click this and you can get access without using Facebook.
