Why am I getting this error message when trying to install Adobe Reader?

Billy McKee asks:

When trying to upgrade Adobe Reader, I get the following error message:

“Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component
{B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D}. HRESULT: 0×80073712.”

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Try the official solutions:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403465.html

One other possible solution is to deinstall your current version, manually download the newest Adobe Reader X and install it.

{B708EB72-AA82-3EB7-8BB0-D845BA35C93D} could also be a problem with either Visual C++ Redistributable or the .NET Framework. So if the above doesn’t help look into Add or Remove Software within the Control Panel for those components and try reinstalling them.

Or you could try other software (like Foxit pr PDF XChange viewer)…

Billy,

did the fix suggested by Mike work? I would also second Andy’s comment and suggest to look into Foxit. It’s a great PDF Reader!
