September 13, 2011For ripping to files I would say HandBrake and MakeMKV
http://handbrake.fr/
http://www.makemkv.com/download/
Other popular choices I know of are Mac DVDRipper Pro and RipIt

September 14, 2011Handbrake (free) does not decrypt.
Mac DVD Ripper Pro ($20) and Ripit ($25) are both good. I prefer the DVD Ripper Pro for its simplicity.RipIt is free but is no longer being developed and won’t work on everything.

September 14, 2011The best DVD Ripper is Mac The Ripper (MTR). Currently at version 4, you can only download it after sending a “Gift” of money to them.

You could also download MTR version 2.6.6 for free, but it’s not compatible with Mac OS X 10.7.
