Can downloading too many apps and files make your computer slow?

Sunshine Reyes asks:

I downloaded Win-RAR, Sublight, 7-Zip, Applian Media Player and some other programs. Now I noticed my laptop runs very slow. Also, sometimes the letters on the screen blink. Is this because I downloaded too many programs?

perhaps windows is infected, boot to safe mode ans scan with malwarebytes antimalware, superantispyware, clamwin.
after this boo to norrmal and clean with CCleaner, Glary utilities…

also check the security level of your antivirus, perhaps to shut down windows defender and see if there is gain of power.

Just clean junk with ccleaner, than Scan your pc with malwarebytes antimalware, and Hitman Pro, remove all spyware, than Click on start menu and go to RUN , type MSCONFIG and go to Start Up tab than uncheck all unknown and unnecessary programs except antivirus, than go to Services tab and check Hide All Microsoft Services, than uncheck all unnecessary programs except antivirus and click on apply, after than make sure you are using only one antivirus program, if you are using more than one antivirus just uninstall it. and use only one firewall.
after that restart the pc and it should work fine now.

i used tune up utilities FREE software..
basically it is an amazing software…

. It actually starts with a survey and tells u what apps are useless
. what apps are starting with windows(which causes slow booting)
. and what downloaded apps makes your computer slow
. it has additional features like disk check, restore, DE-Fragmentation, ……and many more.

I use this software which makes my system to booting at it’s max speed of only ” 13 SEC ”

So, my final conclusion is using a bunch of apps might make u’r sys to work SLOWLY
but using a right Software to control the usage of sys Resource is a SMART idea.!!

this might help u not to rise another Question of how to control the software’s..!!

Scan your PC for viruses, clean and defrag your files.

1. CCLeaner and check for useless startup entries and delete them.
2. Defrag once a month atleast

Do NOT defrag your hard drives!
If you are using SSD then you will stress the hell out of your hard drive. If you are using a sata then you will see little difference at all.

but almost everyone suggests Defrag as it align sector blocks in order and thus are faster to access, i do not know anything about harmful effects of defrag on SSD’s though, but for SATA, defrag should be done IMO

As many that suggest defragging, also suggest dont defrag. If you have a heavy install/delete program then OK defrag your sata but NEVER your SSD and only twice a year.
Was your defrag suggestion based on what you read or personal experience?

Since i never felt my PC slowing way down, i have defragged only a few times, and after defrag i cant say due to the feel of a defrag or actually i felt the PC was faster.. :p
so 70% reading opinions 30% personal..

Guys, Thank you so much for all your answers. Though I’m a bit “Illiterate” when it comes to computer terms, I will try to Google your suggestions so as not to ask the step by step of doing things from you, hehehe. May God Bless you all for your kindness..

Downloading a large number of applications won’t necessarily slow down your machine. What is probably causing the slowdown is the increased number of applications running in the background/running from your system’s startup. A number of these programmes/applications can be diabled in msconfig to speed the machine up again. :)
