rohan asks:
Is there a Chrome addon that will let me download any video which is playing in Chrome? More specifically, I want to download YouTube videos.

October 15, 2011yes there are extensions and of what i know , but those will only run on the Developer Build of the Chrome , >and not on the Stable Chrome Build .
Flash Video Downlaod ( http://www.chromeextensions.org/utilities/flash-video-download/ )
>Easy Youtube Downloader ( http://www.chromeextensions.org/other/easy-youtube-video-downloader/ )
>Youtube Downloader ( http://www.chromeextensions.org/music-videos-photos/youtube-downloader/ )
you can download the Developer Build Version of Chrome if you want to try these .
or
if you want to keep using your present Chrome Set Up ,
then i would recommend you install Orbit Downlaoder .
after installation , just go to its settings and enable monitoring for Chrome .
Orbit has a universal plug in that works for all browsers — Orbit Get it++ .
start the orbit , right click on tray icon and click on Get++ .
now start playing any video in your chrome , and Grab++ would instantly capture it .
just click on it and then click download ..
done …
tell if you need more help …

October 16, 2011Dunno about Chrome (though the folks above have given some options) but in FireFox I find the following to be v good:
Video Download Helper This captures a video from (almost) any site as soon as you hit “play” and then you can download it.
SoThink Web Video Downloader is also good
Illimitux (available for FF & Chrome) removes the MegaVideo limitation (though you have to install and subscribe to “CacaoWeb” or something. Anyway, it works).
Hope this helps

October 22, 2011You could just install REALPLAYER and it gives you a “Download This Video” link on most websites. Just don’t let it take over all your media like iTunes tries to.
