Why do .doc files come out garbled when I transfer them from my email to my iPad?

Klinton Allred asks:

I’m trying to transfer some .doc files my boss emailed me for work. When it transfers to Pages, it’s all warped and missing some work logos. Any way to get it to open normally? Thanks for any help.

Cant guess the reason, but you can upload the files to google docs, (or use the view option) and try to read files on google docs.

Hello, how did you transfer the emails to pages app?  Did you use itunes to transfer it to pages or use the open it to pages option of the app? If available you could try using iCloud to store documents in the cloud see if that shows the document the right way.

Doc is an MS Word format, not Pages. Compatiblity will never be guaranteed. Does it work on OSX full version of Pages? I suspect you’d have the same problems there.

There’s also rumors of Word/Office for iPad to be announced along with the iPad 3, so perhaps you’ll have better luck with that.

Try Save As the file in the RTF format in Word
