How can I disable Windows Media Center in Windows 7?

kim asks:

Every time I open an application, it always opens and all my internet browser icons change to Windows Media Center icon.

I run Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite L505.

Hi Kim,

Please refer to your other thread. If no answer has helped you yet, please post that the problem still exists and you’ll get more support. In the case that your question is no longer on the front page of questions and you still haven’t received a viable answer, post the question again.

If you don’t use Windows Media Center all together you could deactivate it entirely.

1. open up the Control Panel
2. click on Programs
3. select to “Turn Windows features on or off”
4. find the “Media Features” and uncheck Windows Media Center

 Mike, I tried it…but whenever I click the turn windows features on or off, the windows media ceter window opens. what do i do now.
