How can I disable ‘show quoted text’ compression for eMails forwarded in GMail?
you cannot turn off the quoted text in GMail. However, if you change the subject line, GMail will not recognize which conversation the email originally belonged to and the messages from previous conversations will not be quoted. The drawback is that it will create a new conversation.
Alternatively, you can enable a Google Labs feature for yet another workaround. Log into your Google Mail account, go to > Settings (top right) and switch to > Labs. Now find the > Quote selected text feature and > Enable it. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click > Save Changes. The next time you reply to an email, highlight just a few words or a sentence that you want to quote, then hit the > Reply button at the BOTTOM (!!!) of the email. For some reason it will only work with that one button. This should get rid of all the previous conversations in the quotes.
Let us know which one works best for you.
