How do I disable ‘Away Mode’ in BIOS?

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 that came with Windows Vista 32-bit. When Windows 7 came out I upgraded to 64-bit. Now Windows tells me I have to disable the ‘Away Mode’ in BIOS.

Unfortunately "Away Mode" is not supported in Windows 64bit.

    1. Reboot your Laptop
    2. Press & hold F2 to access the BIOS
    3. go into the Power Options
    3. disable the "Quick Resume" function
    4. save the changes and reboot into Windows

    This should fix your problem.

Does this also work on a desktop pc?

uhm sorry, I read "Inspiron" and the laptop line came to mind...
Yes, it's the same for your Desktop.

As soon as you see text on the screen or the DELL logo press&hold F2 until "Entering Setup" appears.

If F2 doesn't work other key cominations used by DELL are "CTRL + ALT + Enter" or simply the "Delete" key.
