I had the same problem on the other end. I was a writer for them and they kept me from communicating with the customer who needed assistance quickly. Don’t get ripped off. Know who your writer is.

Hello Youness Abarrou ! I would like to answer your question in detail, I hope it will help you.

First of all ‘To create a blog’ and ‘becoming popular’ are 2 different things, but as you integrate both it means that you should be ready for hardwork. Nice ! Now way is open for you. Read carefully all these steps:

    1. First of all find the niche about which you want to write, post images or videos. I will recommend that it will directly related to your knowledge and interest of that field.

    2. Now open blogger.com and signup for a blog. Fill all details about your blog and choose a best available subdomain name for your blog.

    3. Add a custom domain to your blog. My recommendation is that both subdomain you used above and custom domain should be same. (like: http://www.makeuseof.blogspot.com and http://www.makeuseof.com). You should also take care of niche, your domain name should sound about your niche.

    4. Now upload a custom template to your blog. It should be professional, simple in navigation and optimized for search engines.

    5. Start posting your stuff ! And this is the only effort which will examine your skills on popularity meter. This requires more detail and lets discuss this in detail.
How you can be popular by a blog? When more readers will reach to your blog? When and why they will reach to your blog? They will reach to your blog when you will post something useful or interesting. So, post useful things by making them interesting with your writing skills. It will be much better if you stuff is unique too. And also add basic SEO to the posts so that search engines can send more traffic to your blog.

    6. Use social media power and share your posts on social media channels.

But all this is not so easy, otherwise everyone would have become popular by blogging. It requires HARD WORK and PATIENCE ! Because you can not get popularity via blogging in just few days. It requires a regular hardwork for interesting and useful posts and then a patience till growing your blog’s readership.

    In short we can say,

Niche + Blog on blogger + hardwork + patience + your communication skills = Popular Blogger via blogger

Make up a blog title, no need to be fancy but make it unique. Post content often and/or regularly, just don’t spam subscribers. Make your content worthwhile, it’s hard and requires effort but it can be done. Good luck!

Popular, that’s more having good content and a good marketing plan, like having a ton of people spread the word, advertising, stuff like that.

You can’t. The moment you put your content on blogger, people will assume you’re an amateur who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Get a domain, get some hosting, get wordpress.

success does not nesseseraly mena monentary value (which i assume by your comment is your version of success) simply having an audience is enough for some as we are in it for the FUN of it.

Just because you are an amateur, doesn’t mean you cant be successful. I read blogger blogs that achieve 100’s if not 1000’s of views on a regular basis.

Starting with blogger is free and a good way to learn how to get the most of sharing your thoughts and ideas on line to a wide audience.
Once a blog reaches a level you are happy with, THEN it’s worth PAYING for domain and hosting.

I didn’t mention money at all, but whatever.

I understand what you’re saying, but the problem is – if you get to say, 500 uniques a day, and then decide to get a “proper” domain and real hosting, you’ll find it very difficult to move from the blogger platform without losing all that traffic and link value you’ve built up.

I say this from experience, by the way. Do you own any sites yourself?

  • Bumferry

Post regular, informative posts. Don’t make them too long as people will quickly loose their attention.
Post links on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.
Engage your audience. Ask them to participate by leaving comments, ie- end your posts with a question, this will entice them to come back. also reply to each and every comment. if people see this they will come back time and again.
knowing that you appreciate your audience will mean a lot and help to spread the word that you are out there.
