PAT VENTURINO asks:
Microsoft Office 2010 does not recognize the MIDI files I was using in PowerPoint lessons. Now I have to find a way to convert all my MIDI music into MP3 or WAV files. Does anyone know of software that can do this? Free software would be best. Thanks!

July 11, 2012You could use this software: http://download.cnet.com/Free-MIDI-to-MP3-Converter/3000-2140_4-75211970.html
It offers a drag and drop feature to quickly convert midi files to mp3 format.

TiMidity++ is a software synthesizer. It can play MIDI files by converting them into PCM waveform data;

July 13, 2012If you only have a small number of midi files to convert, you can do this online at http://solmire.com/ and save yourself the hassle of installing local software.

September 15, 2012Open the MIDI file with the free software Audacity. Export it as WAV or MP3 file.
