September 8, 2011Why would you want to do that, since .dat files contain no user-readable data? These are generated by your email program when someone sends you an email with an attachment, so there’s nothing there that’s of any use to you.

September 10, 2011I had to do this last week. Try changing the extension from dat to doc and see if it opens…
