Some of them have been successful in fixing their issues by following some of the steps mentioned below -
1) Use “Forget this network” feature and try to reconnect.
2) Reset iPhone’s network configuration.
3)Connecting to your Wi-Fi via unprotected mode.
4) You can save the iPhone’s Wi-Fi address in to the router settings saved in your PC/Mac.
(Note : -To obtain Wi-Fi address,go to Settings–>General–>About and scroll down to the Wi-Fi address )
5) Changing the router channel to highest possible number.
I think he means the internet comes through the USB port. Just use the windows internet connection sharing wizard to share your usb internet connection to wifi, then you can connect your phone to your computer via wifi.
I found the following guide but I can neither confirm it works nor do I suggest to jailbreak iOS [which is required for this method].
Other then that your only option is to create a personal hotspot via WiFi connection using Connectify or Virtual Router.
