Why does my computer power up, but my monitor not display?

Mike Wood asks:

My computer turns on, the fans run, but the monitor says “no signal” and goes to a blank black screen just like if you turned the computer off while the monitor was one. There is no video signal. What’s wrong with it?

Possible something wrong with your graphic card, remove the graphic card and see the internal graphic card of your motherboard will work better.

Also, don’t forget to check if the outlet where your monitor is connect is ok.  Sometimes, especially if it is connected to a power bar, it stops working.  Try a different outlet.
