How to collate a set of .tiff files to a .pdf file using PDFtk?

I have a windows 7 on my laptop.

I know that PDFtk server runs from the command prompt in Windows 7.

Using the command prompt, I accessed the relevant directory in E: using “cd\”. Somebody told me that what I need to do is type:

pdftk (and press Enter)
convert *.tiff output.pdf (& press Enter)

But, I see the following error:

Invalid Parameter — output.pdf

Please explain in detail as I don’t know much about this topic.

If you want to convert your images from the command line then imagemagick or irfanview are better ways to go (as Jan points out, PDFtk only deals with PDFs).

If you're happy to use tools from the command line, try PDFill PDF Tools (free) which you can download from http://www.pdfill.com. There's also a GUI version of PDFtk called PDFtk Builder, but as it's based on the same toolkit, it still won't allow you to convert your tiffs to PDFs...

PDFtk is a pdf manipulation kit, it doesn't convert file types, it doesn't even have a "convert" parameter
    http://www.pdflabs.com/docs/pdftk-man-page/

first you need e.g. imagemagick to convert the tiff files into single pdfs
then you can use PDFtk to join them into a single pdf
