How do I change my default font In Microsoft Word?

Mark asks:

Whenever I fire up a new Word document, it automatically starts with Times New Roman, size 12. However, there is one font I really detest and that is Times New Roman! And it is getting really tiring having to constantly switch to my preferred font, Arial size 10.

Is there any way to tell Word to default to another font such as Arial size 10? Maybe a registry tweak?
