How do I change the Apple ID on my iPod Touch?

Cornelius Owens asks:

I was using a previous Apple ID on my iPod Touch and now I want to start using a different Apple ID. I went to Settings and signed out of store and signed in with the new Apple ID.

However, when I try to download apps the prompt comes up with the old ID and I only have the option to enter password. How can I change the ID permanently?

What are you trying to download? If you are trying to download App updates you will be asked for the Apple ID you purchased them with.

From itunes, using new id, perform factory reset of ipod, then sign in using new id on iPod if it does not have the new id already. Remember that you will lose all songs videos and games and anything else you might have on it.

If you download an app using one ID . you must use the same ID for app updates
