Actually the app mentioned in the link can auto activate speaker-mode for incoming calls though no feature of custom greeting and recording caller’s message could be seen on the link

November 15, 2012shouldn’t your service provider have something like that? if not, then you could try Google Voice.

November 18, 2012Hello Sunil, did the workaround not work? Or is it perhaps not practical? There was confirmation here, that the method works, but it sounds like it has quite a few difficulties.

November 16, 2012If you call *86 (at least on Verizon) it’ll bring you to your voice mail where you can change those kind of settings, like greetings and such.

November 18, 2012I guess there is no such solution for a Voice answering machine ( would love to have one
), but there are SMS answering machine solutions available for free at Google Play where a SMS is triggered for missed calls ( standard SMS rates apply ) .
You are correct that there are many auto-sms reply apps
Actually there would be apps meeting criteriae of this question but they have to be searched by expert and tedious eyes
