Can you help me find an article on MakeUseOf?

Indigo Gainsboro asks:

A few weeks ago, I read an article on this website. But I cannot remember any specific words, so I cannot find it right now.

The article was about a website. That website shows some other websites’ history. Well, I don’t know how to describe it. It was like this; you go to that website, then enter a website’s name in it’s search section, YouTube.com for example. And then it lists the older pages of YouTube. So, you can see what YouTube was looking like in 2007 or so.

I hope I could describe it. I’m looking for that article, because there was an argument on a message board, the admins deleted some messages, I missed those messages and I’d like to find them through that website. It’s probably won’t gonna work but I still wanna try.
Thanks.

Indigo,

I think you are talking about the Wayback Machine. And the article was either one of these:
Go Back In Time: How 10 Big Websites Looked 15 Years Ago
5 Ways To Access Websites That Won’t Load

Maybe someone has another idea how to view posts that were deleted from a message board.

Thanks a lot. Yes, it was Wayback Machine :) .

It didn’t work for the message board I was talking about. But it’s ok. I didn’t think it would work anyway. Thanks again :) .

One of the easy to find article on MakeUseOf with Google
Go to http://www.google.com
Type makeuseof.com: tags / Title/brief Description

Example:
makeuseof.com: music
http://goo.gl/nKwd8

makeuseof.com: earn points on makeuseof
http://goo.gl/Bn2Pd

makeuseof.com: how to find article on makeuseof
http://goo.gl/hsVha

makeuseof.com: android (past year -2011)
http://goo.gl/82Jdt

makeuseof.com: how to (custom date – 1-5-2011 to 1-6-2011)
http://goo.gl/E01dI

So you can also view article with time and date on Google search engine to click on left side link More Search Tool and select any what you want, and also try custom range to find article between dates

Thanks for the help. Actually, I searched the article[I was looking for] in Google. But I couldn’t remember any words from that article so I couldn’t find it. I mean, I tried “web archieve” “history” or that kinda words but I couldn’t find it. I thought the best would be asking here.

I’ll use your suggestions(google search) for another thing, so thank you :) .

I don’t know if this was mentioned on MakeUseOf, but Google Time Machine (http://www.googletimemachine.com) does what you describe.
Hope this helps.

Indigo Gainsboro

Thanks. I found the article(thanks to Tine). But I’ll try googletimemachine for other things.
