Why can’t I see all of my files on external HDD via DVD player?

I have both a Seagate and WD external hard drive. When I plug it into my computer, I can see all files. When I plug it into my DVD player, I can see maybe half of them. It doesn’t matter what type of file it is, they won’t show up. If I remove files from the HD, then files I couldn’t see before will start to appear. What is the reason for all files not showing up at all times?

Some DVD players have limits on how many files can be shown on a hard drive has so yours exceeded the ability of the DVD player to read the disk.

you can try organize by folder, each folder containing 100 files, see if you will be able to read them on your dvd player.
