How can I regain access to an old Facebook account and merge it with a new one?

My 3 year old grandson deleted my Facebook back in May. I didn’t know how to retrieve it so I started a new account. There is a lot of stuff on my old account that I would like to keep and a lot of stuff on this account also. Is there a way to combine the two. The old account is still active I just can’t access it.

You cannot recover a deleted facebook account. You have

After you request to have your account permanently deleted, we delay the deletion process a few days in case you change your mind. If you log into your account again during this time you'll cancel your deletion request.

Before you can do anything with your old account you will have to successfully recover it, be able to access it. There is no way around that.

Then Facebook does not offer the option to combine or merge accounts. You can only use a work-around as explained by Tina in the following article.
